Christmas 2020

We had a nice long holiday weekend...and we are still celebrating.  My favorite days of the year are the between Christmas and New Years and I am soaking it in.
Here are the girls in their Christmas Eve best.  EB is wearing a dress I wore at 4, and MB is wearing what Libby wore at 1.  She refused to keep the dress on though, way too formal for this wild child.
This year was the first year EB was fully aware of what was going on, so it was very special.  We made cookies for Santa and left out the carrots for the reindeer.  Daddy read The Night Before Christmas.  We regretted buying the largest Barbie dream house ever known to exist.  We slept well and surprisingly were not woken too early.  Christmas morning we had our traditional breakfast with strata and cinnamon rolls (and super strong coffee for the elves).
After eating, we bundled the girls up and told them that Santa left something out in the backyard...
They were both so excited.

We feasted on a delicious meal, and are still enjoying left overs.
When the guests were gone and the kids asleep, we collapsed by the fire, looked at each other, and said...We did it!  Makin' all the magic isn't easy, but getting to experience the holiday through our daughter's eyes is the greatest gift I've known.

Holiday Happenings

Merry Merry!

We are doing our best to  *s l o w l y* savor the season around here...

We spent this weekend in a cottage at James Island County Park.  We celebrated K's birthday, golf carted around (and around), took in the Festival of Lights, and generally enjoyed a break from the hustle and bustle of the season.  We definitely want to rent one again during the Summer to enjoy Splash Zone!

The sunsets on the back porch were beautiful:

We opted to skip Santa because we already saw him this year, but we still enjoyed checking out the scene:
I tried to find a picture of EB in this same little suit...I know she wore it to the lights when she was one also.

--
We got a new car!  SO happy to have more space.

--
We had a special night out down at Circa 1886 last weekend.  It was our first time there and we really enjoyed it!  It was nice being away from the King Street chaos.

--
Check out these adorable vintage stockings I found at an estate sale.  One for my blonde and one for my brunette!

That's a wrap...
That reminds me...presents!
It's going to be a busy busy week over here.
I'll share our Christmas cards soon...

Holiday Home 2020

The newest addition to my holiday decorating...our children's tree!  It holds our home-made and sentimental ornaments.

Christmas village on the shelves behind the couch.
We are continuing the tradition of adding a piece to the set every year.  Soon I'll need a bigger shelf.
Traditional wreaths and an Angel flag out front...
And then our standard white tree in the living room!
Here is Queen Elsa pointing out her favorite snowflake ornament:

Friday Highfive

Happy Friday...  Here's a highfive for making it through the week!

--

{1}

I celebrated my 35th on Tuesday!  It was very cold so I made a huge pot of tortellini soup with garlic bread, and we sat out by the fire for a while.  Nice night!

{2}
We visited Socially Distant Santa!

{3}
Facebook Marketplace Score!
I brought one of my dining room chairs with me to make sure it worked, and it was perfect!  Best part, they are delivering it!

Okay, I made a major Rookie Santa mistake this year and assumed that I could run to Target and grab EB's list in one trip on Monday.  I was sent into a frenzy when I realized that the Unicorn Party Polly pockets were sold out everywhere, and going for over $75 on Amazon.  I've been stalking the different sites to see if anything is restocked and last night ONE became available at the Tanger Walmart.  SOLD.

Check out this adorable velvet holiday handbag!  I have been killing it at thrift stores recently...maybe a full post to come.

Have a great weekend!

Thanksgiving Break

We had a really nice Thanksgiving!  Just wish it had been 20 degrees cooler!

My uncle took these two photos with his fancy camera:

On Saturday we got our Christmas trees.  Two this year because we need allllll the holiday magic!
And yesterday was the perfect rainy day to stay inside and decorate!
Her expression here cracks me up.  I think she's trying the keep a straight face like she's annoyed we wrapped her in lights, yet secretly she loves it.
I'll share all of my decorations soon.
Have a great week!

House Tour: Kitchen

Our Kitchen refresh is mostly complete...just in time for the holidays!
Here's a little bit about the project...
First up were the countertops.  We worked with Tom at South Star Granite and were extremely happy with them.  They were the best price we found, which allowed us to do the waterfall edge on the island, and the backsplash on the stove.
We replaced the cabinet hardware, the light fixture over the island, the window treatments, and then of course the décor.  The lighting was sort of weird trying to get pictures, but I'm so happy with it.  Check me out yall!

Life Lately

A few snaps of the haps...

We checked out West Ashley's new "The Deli" a couple weeks ago.  It was right next to Seacoast Church, where early voting was located.  I had the breakfast burrito and it was great and ready very quickly.   I would recommend stopping by for a quick bite.  Note: We previously went to the new Black Magic around the corner and we both agreed "The Deli" was better all around.

--
I have been really enjoying visiting thrift stores in the mornings while big sis is at school.  I could browse Exchange Factor for hours...Reminds me a lot of Grannys Goodies for all my Chas natives.
--
We had well checks last week and both of the girls did so awesome, especially EB.  She is growing so fast these days!
I took them to Outslide In after naptime for a special treat.  EB has been asking to go back for months so we finally made it happen.
--
Home Projects!
I have been busy working on our kitchen makeover.  Right now I am on the hunt for the right rug.  I really like the style of this one, but it's just too big for the space.  I also think I want something slightly lighter in color and with fringe trim.  We also have a new light fixture going over the island.  My vision is getting there!  We are hoping to get some major front yard landscaping done soon as well.
--
I'm really just enjoying being back in the school year routine and getting excited about the holidays.  EB is asking for a Barbie Dreamhouse, Kinetic Sand, and the unicorn Polly Pocket.  Ho ho ho!
That's about it...
Oh! Check out how long my babies hair is getting!  It's the cutest little bob.
Have a good week!

Amazing Bins 2

This is a follow up to my initial post about Amazing Bins back in August.  They have since opened a second location and also, they are now open on Tuesdays, when everything is TWO DOLLARS.
So I went to check out the new warehouse last week and this is what I found.
I paid $2.00 for each item and I'll share the retail price below.
--
Hair, skin, and nail gummy vitamins.  I think this brand has been discontinued, but I would imagine a price similar to this one. Retail $15.
--
Aztec Secret Healing Clay: Retail $10
I bought this because I have had an eczema outbreak on my elbow and I'm hoping this may help heal..
--
The Laundress Crease Release: Retail $15
--
Mama Chia squeeze pouches 8 pack:  Retail $25
--
Vega Protein and Greens 12 pack: Retail $20
--
Soylent Cacoa 12 pack: Retail $35
I actually put these in the blessing box on our street!
--
It's a fun way to spend an hour and a 10 dollar bill!
