Our Weekend

In typical fashion, I've got my weekend report coming at you on a Wednesday!
It's so hard to find the time to blog now, but it's such a priority for me to keep a record of our family life during these very special days.
So let's see...
Friday night was Dateline (Laci Peterson story) and East Bay Deli delivery.
--
K typically works on Saturdays but he was home early this week and we took a family trip to Lowes.  We bought tomato plants and set them up in planters in the middle of our yard.  Hoping for some big juicy ones soon!  Also, new tiki torches!
For dinner K grilled pork loin.  We decided to try this peach sauce I saw in a recent issue of Palmetto magazine.  It was really good!  (it's peaches, vinegar, sugar, and thyme).
We paired it with mushroom tortellini from the farmers market (just a tablespoon of butter for the sauce, it's so delicious on it's own) and paprika/parmesan grilled corn.  The meal was great but we agreed that it may have been a little too flavorful...meaning too many different flavors.
On Sunday we took a leisurely drive(baby was napping) before having lunch downtown at Taco Boy.
This little lady enjoyed it just as much as we did.  She loved their guacamole...I may need to try avocado again soon.
We ended the weekend with burgers on the grill at my parents' house.
I can't believe this is the last week in April...hope it's a great one!

Friday Highfive

Happy Friiiiiday!
Here's a highfive for getting through the week.

Margarita Recipe
I made the most delish margaritas for our Supper Club fiesta recently (Thanks to Cathy for the recipe scoop).
I squeezed a bag of lemons and a bag of limes...giving me about a cup of each kind of juice.  I added another cup of store bought lemon juice and a cup of store bought lime juice.  This means four cups of juice total (2 lemon, 2 lime)  To that I added 4 cups of water and about 1/3 of a cup of agave.  Prepare the margs with a shot of tequila and a grand marnier floater if you're feelin' fun.

West Ashley Farmers Market is open!
We went through before the rain came this Wednesday and it was nice.  The West Ashley Farmer's Market was our first family outing back with EB was a couple weeks old...look at my girl now!

Favorite Shop
One of my faaaavorite stores to shop is called Eclectic Finds.  There are two locations, one is West Ashley, one in Mount Pleasant, and it's a treasure trove of interior goodness.  On my last walk through I snapped a few of my faves.
The rug and the pillows:
THESE CHAIRS!!  K looked at me like I was insane when I shared my dreams of totally redoing our dining room to accommodate these chairs.  Not his style to say the least, but I adore...
Wouldn't this be cool in a laundry room?

Thanks to my mom for putting the baby to bed so K and I could grab a late Happy Hour at Amen Street last night!  It was a beautiful, and busy, evening downtown.

Unhappiest when grocery shopping with mommy!! Why?!

Life Lately

So much good stuff going on around here lately...time to share.
Let's start with a Spring Break recap.
Last week we...
Met up with our baby besties at Three Little Birds for a delicious brunch.
Followed by a visit to the aquarium:Caught up with Carrie at East Bay Deli.  Apologies to anyone eating near us for my daughter's unhappy little self.  She has two teeth poking through and this was an especially difficult day.  Exhibit A:
We checked out the new Frothy Beard location in West Ashley.  My impression was that it was very loud in there, and that the pizza looked delicious...wish I had gotten a slice.
--
Our Easter weekend was also very busy...getting the house cleaned up, prepping and cooking for brunch...
Each holiday we've hosted I always mentally resolve to snap a pic of all of the delicious food before it's devoured, and then forget.  Checking my camera roll, this was the only snap from the morning.
I did get a pic of EB's Easter Basket.  The Easter Bunny brought her a stroller fan, swim diapers, a matching bonnet/bloomer set, and a little bunny plush.
Easter twins!!!
Later in the day...Easter Round 2.

I am trying to keep this week super low key...Hope you had a wonderful Easter!

Friday Highfive

Hello, Easter weekend!  Here is a highfive for getting through the week!

The new landscaping at Colonial Lake is fabulous!
I've always felt like the lake was sort of an eye sore, but all of the restoration has really made it an excellent spot for a stroll.

 {2}
EB's Daddy joined us at the Little Gym this week and she was so full of herself over it!  She was showing off and chirping like a little bird the entire time.  Adorable.

This is one of my favorite Costco buys.  They didn't have it for a while but it's back and I'm glad.

We are hosting Easter Brunch and I'm keeping it simple.  It's going to be Potluck style and I'm using some fancy disposable plates I found at Tuesday morning.  I am also going to try these little "DIY carrot napkins", my first attempt pictured below.  I didn't mean to buy the green tulle, thought it was ribbon, but it will just have to do.  I am also going to provide To-Go boxes for everyone so we can easily giveaway some of the leftovers.

I found this cute bunny display stand at TJ's and it turned me on to the brand Meri Meri.  They have such adorable party supplies and decorations.  Check them out here.
--
That's a wrap.  I've got a big life lately post coming next week.  We are having a wonderful Spring and hope you are too.
Happy Easter!!

Our Weekend

Happy Hump Day, y'all.  And Happy Spring Break!
I'm looking forward to catching up with a couple teacher friends this week.
We had a nice weekend!  Kicked it off with Publix subs and Dateline on Friday night.  Well Dateline for me, K doesn't like Crime tv.  Anyway, we took it easy because we had a busy day on Saturday getting ready for a little fiesta with our Supper club.  I made margaritas (planning to share the recipe soon) and stuffed jalapenos for the grill.  I stuffed with sausage/cream cheese mix.  So good!  I bought the pepper stand to try out and it was a total fail.
Speaking of FAIL...the main event of our night was trying out a Breakout Room for the first time.
Much different than I expected.  I was thinking scavenger hunt, with clues and riddles but it wasn't really like that.  It was tough, and we didn't "break out".  I'll just blame the margaritas...
It was fun though!  We fulfilled our Ocean's Eleven fantasies.
 --
On Sunday we picked up EB from my parents' house and went to lunch at Hometeam.

It was a gorgeous day so we had a family trip to the park around the corner from our house.  It was our first time going and they just put in a really nice playground!  She loved it!
--
And that's a wrap. Hope y'all are having a great week.

Our Weekend

We had a good one!  I am suffering from some major seasonal allergies, so that put a bit of a damper on things, but it was still a nice Spring weekend.

On Friday night we went up to Charles Towne Fermentory.  I've mentioned this place several times and we love it because we can bring the babe and yet it feels like a date night at the same time.  Proud of her new trick: sucking on her bottom lip:
On Saturday my mom and I took EB up to the Flowertowne Festival bright and early.  We arrived right when it opened and it was already so packed...crazy!  We spent some time shopping at the sweetest little children's boutique up there called The Carousel.
On the way home we swung by the Neighborhood's Little Free Library to exchange a book:
And later that night we grilled out.
--
Sunday was Lauren's Baby Shower!
Absolutely CAN NOT wait to meet Miss Mac.
We had delicious food and EB had lots of little friends to play with...
Such sweetness.

I hope y'all are having a good week!
