Holiday Happenings

I'll be signing out until after Christmas.  I hope you have a beautiful holiday with the ones you love.  Here are holiday happenings so far...
--
EB was not a fan of Santa and said Heck no to sitting on his lap, but little MB had a great first visit!
Our family presented an Advent reading at church a few weeks back...
Christmas Party AND pajama day at school.
I took the lead on teacher gifts from our class this year.  They turned out great!
Christmas Program look...she did not sing a word this year!
We had a special holiday night out, starting with drinks at Hotel Bennett.
Followed by dinner at Halls.
We introduced the girls to Waffle House last weekend.  We left a generous tip to pay forward the blessings of the season.
Aquarium Holiday Extravaganza with Cindy Lou Who.
 Shrinkydink ornaments for Daddy's Bday!
 EB lives for birthday cake:
That's a wrap.  Gotta run!

2019 Holiday Home

My decorations haven't changed much in years past...but I'll still share a few snaps from our Holiday Home!
--
I found Frosty on the side of the road yesterday and was thrilled to take him home and clean him up!  He has a large hole in the backside but he's still a great addition to our yard.
Little bows on the light fixture are new this year:

The tree selection was weak, but we managed to find one we liked after a few stops.
--
One last thing...K and I were discussing last night the idea of buying the girls a Christmas Village piece each year of their childhood so, when they leave the house, they will have their own set!  We'll record the year on the bottom.

If you want to see more of the decorations, check out previous posts:

Friday Highfive

Our first December Friday!
Thanksgiving falling later in November this year has really thrown off my December- hit the ground running- plans.  We are getting our tree tomorrow so I hope to share some snaps from around the house next week.  For now, here's a highfive for make it through the post-holiday week.

Someone stole our trash can!  And it's a lot of hoops to jump through to get a new one, let me tell ya.  I sent this pic to K saying Merry Christmas!  The gift that keeps on giving...

{2}
Our laundry snow-balled out of control last week so it feels like it's all I've been doing.  It's a good thing MB is entertained watching me fold.

School Pictures came back this week.  I'm in love!

This scares me.

I really liked this doc on Ralph Lauren...I didn't know anything about him and it was a fun watch.

Have a great weekend!

Thanksgiving Break 2019

Thanksgiving Break means a week off with my big girl!  We were busy- it was fun and stressful all the same...such is life!
This is a tradition we started last year: Thanksgiving Eve "Nature Walk"...where we find natural decorations for the tablescape.

We truly had a fantastic Thanksgiving this year.  It will go down as one of my favorites ever, I'm sure.

I surprised K with tickets to see the Redskins in Charlotte on Sunday.  They are his favorite NFL team and, though their season hasn't been great, they won!

I'm exhausted!
Taking a few days off before Christmas decorations and festive fun begin!
Hope you all had a wonderful holiday,
xLaura

5 Years

5 years...
It's going quick, babe.
I wish I had the time to sit and write everything I'd like to say about the last handful.  Late night feedings, early mornings, and all of the minutes in between.  Sunday afternoons wishing it were bedtime, yet savoring the seconds before the sun goes down.
5 years...
2 girls thriving in our love, literal lifetimes created.  As the years get harder, and we grow stronger, let's look back on this day, our first real marriage milestone.  Let's lean into the warmth of each other in the cold.
And remember that champagne always helps.

I love you, Kevin!
Forever and Ever, Amen.

Chit chat

Hey hey Wednesday! This is our last week before the holiday madness comences, so I'm purposefully trying to take it EASY around here.  Kids and teachers are dropping like flies at EB's school so let's say a prayer we stay healthy over the next week!
I tried a new recipe last night, One pan rice and beans egg bake.  It was good.  K said it needed meat. #eyeroll
We made some holiday chex mix yesterday to fill some time in the afternoon.
I've been doing some holiday outfit planning and I'm thinking of personalizing these.  Any suggestions of colors for a monogram?
Ow ow!  That's my guy!
We are celebrating our fifth anniversary Friday.
Here's a peak into our relationship:

That's all I've got for you.
Have a great week!

Life Lately

Some cute pics from the past couple of weeks...
Snuggle bunnies.  This is a comparison of the girls in one of my baby coats.  EB is a little older than MC in the picture...I think around 6 months...They are really looking more alike.
Daddy's girls for sure:
When you're swinging but also a lady...
Typical Charleston weather: Winter coats one day, Popsicles and shorts the next.
Picture Day look.  God bless the photographer charged with taking this whirlwind's picture.
We just booked a mother/daughter trip to NYC next February!  It's going to be COLD but we are ready to bundle up!  I haven't been in 5 years and I just can't wait!  Just a note, when I say mother/daughter I mean my mom and I with my bestie and her mom...I won't be bringing the girls until they are much older.

Have a great week!

Friday Highfive

{1}
K's Bubby was an amazing man, he will live on forever in our hearts.
He kept the Old Charleston alive a little longer:

Well check success. EB had her 3 year and MC had her 4 month.

{3}
I had a fun morning with my big girl at Disney on Ice!  She was totally overwhelmed.

Thanks to Amazon, my Christmas shopping will be done before Thanksgiving, so we can focus on memory-making all December!
