Last Weekend...

was fantastic!
Friday night we met my parents down at Crosby's Dock for the dock party.  What a beautiful place to take in the last night of summer...
See for yourself:
:)
 I love fall mums!
Saturday I baked a sweet gameday treat...which was all gone by Sunday.  I am cookie monster.
I gave myself a Fall manicure and leafed through my favorite magazine during the game.
--
Sunday we took Alf to the park and I made my "who needs kick chick" sammies.
Great weekend!  How was yours?
Tomorrow is a New Belgium Tasting in Marion Sq. and Friday we are using our Wine and Design Groupon.
I love this time of year!

Hello, Fall!

Oh, it's a beautiful Monday morning.  I'm enjoying a seasonal K-cup treat, and going over last minute details before my meeting with the caterer of our Holiday Party this afternoon...not a bad day of work, I'd say.
This weekend we gave Summer a great going away party, pics to come tonight or tomorrow.
Hope you are all enjoying this first Fall Monday!

Tuesday Thoughts

I have just a few random thoughts for you today.
Firstly, tonight K and I are headed to Wine School!  I'm pretty excited about this, as I've been searching the Charleston area for wine classes to no avail over the past year.  We did take the Wine Pairing class at Charleston Cooks and that was fun, but not quite as informational as I wanted.  Also, my mom and I hired a company to come and do an in-home wine tasting for our Hallowine party and oh, the poor guy they sent knew absolutely nothing about wine!  Luckily, mom and I had researched some wine trivia and that kept things interesting.  But our "teacher" was so uneducated himself.  Anyhow, I'm looking forward to tonight, and thanks for the invite Christina!
Oh, and K's excited too.  I'd say this is about as happy as he gets:
Also, Did y'all catch any of Dina Lohan's Dr. Phil interview yesterday? Oh boy, it was rough.

Yikes.
Also, we are in preliminary planning stages for our New York Holiday!
We've been searching hotels and have found the New Yorker to be the option with the highest star rating and lowest price.  Does anyone have any feedback on this choice?  I've never stayed in a hotel in NYC, always with friends, so this is nerve wracking!

Back to Reality

I want to share a glimpse of our past week at the beach with you, full of relaxing nights with crisp whites, oh and maybe a tattoo...or two.
Oh no he didn't!!!
Full recap coming soon, and maybe last weekends photos, and maybe the weekend before that too ;)
I'm just a beach bum!

Where were you?

This morning at our Manager's Meeting, we all took a moment to go around the room and share where we were today 11 years ago, what we were doing and how we found out.  It was our own small tribute.
My answer: Keyboard class at James Island High

Where were you?
Never Forget.

Update:
I just ran out to pick up some apples for our fruit bowl and check out my receipt:
What are the odds?

Beach Week

We've got a front beach house this week so allow me to apologize in advance for my absence. The weather couldn't be more perfect for sipping wine on the porch with a stack of magazines and books, watching the surfers enjoy the swell.
  See y'all next week!

Little Luxuries

There comes a point at the beginning of each season that I must treat myself to something special...a little luxury if you will.  I'm not interested in spending much money, but it is important to bask in consumer pleasures every now and then.  With Fall's arrival right around the corner, I've created my wish-list and yesterday bought myself a little piece:
Everything about Burberry screams Fall to me, including the perfume.
--
In the interest of little luxuries, I've compiled a list of mini-splurges for your enjoyment!
These are all items that I have come to realize bring a sense of leisure and delight to everyday life!
  • A good showerhead.
  • Fresh flowers
  • A nice pen (Mont Blanc or a similar fountain pen)
  • Special Magazines (Wine Enthusiast, Town and Country, etc)
  • A decadent truffle from Godiva
  • Cloth napkins
  • Chanel lipgloss or nail polish
  • A silk bathrobe
  • Designer sunglass case (mine is Kate Spade)
  • A set of Riedel wine glasses
  • and of course, Designer Perfume
I love working in the Luxury Market, and I know that finer things make me happy.
By no means does money buy you happiness, but hopefully little luxuries will make your life richer!
I think this guy knows what I'm talking about:

TGIF!!!

I'd love to hear, what small splurge makes you happiest?

Color Me Rad

Hey hey!  Happy Hump Day!
When I read this post over at Jen Loves Kev I thought "This just looks too fun!".  I am so happy that the Color Me Rad 5K is coming to Columbia!!  My friend Abigail and I are planning on running together and I'm pumped.
The idea is that you start off wearing crisp, clean white and by the end you're completely drenched in paint (it's actually colored corn starch).  I can already tell it will be a memory making event!
Check out the locations:
Oh, and I listened to the ladies at The Modern Connection on the radio this morning talking about Social Media as it relates to politics...it was an interesting conversation and I found this article on their site.
Enjoy your day :)
