Lately...

It's SO nice being able to hang in the backyard again!  Today is a rainy day but at least a cool front is coming through.  We are planning to enjoy Charleston's brief Fall season just like this:
Did anyone else catch Amazon's deal of the day last week, where they were offering a promo code that made the smartplug 99 cents?  Score!
Little cheerleader for Saturday's game!

Yesterday we had lunch at Jack's Cosmic Dogs and then hit the playground:
Can you tell she's happy to be back at school?
Here's to the start of another good week!

First Day of 3k!

EB had a fantastic first day at her preschool.  She was so excited to go back again today!
What with the weather cooling off and school starting, it's as if I physically felt the world around me exhale this morning, moving on from holding its' breath these last 6 months.
We went for ice cream for a special first day treat.
I'm so happy for her to get back to having fun- playing and learning with friends.
I'm also excited to start Little Gym with little sis!
Have a great week,
xLaura

Friday Highfive

Happy Friday!!!! School starts Monday!  It's gonna be a good one.

Here's a highfive for making it to the END OF SUMMER!

We had a new roof installed this week!  This was something that has been on our minds since moving in and it's a relief to have it complete.  I also want to share that we were awarded a SafeHome roof grant which paid for more than HALF of the cost of our new roof.  What's so exciting about this program is that everyone is eligible, regardless of income.  You can apply twice a year and it's the simplest process.  The SafeHome roofs are "hurricane proof" and offer a special layer called "Ice and Water Shield" placed under the shingles to better protect your home.  You can see it in the photo below.  We chose Middle Branch Roofing and they were excellent to work with all around!  Once the weather breaks, we've got some front yard landscaping projects and our home will have a total facelift!

We watched 1917 last weekend and it was really a great movie.  I was hesitant because I didn't enjoy the last war film we watched (Dunkirk) but this was so good.

We got our new countertops last week.  We are still working on lighting, window treatments, and cabinet hardware, but I wanted to share a little upgrade we chose last minute due to a happy accident.  There was a measurement issue with our 'peninsula' slab and they were able to give us an amazing deal on the oven backsplash!  It's a really striking look and I can't wait to share allll the updates.

Number 4 is about my baby's FOURTH BIRTHDAY party quickly approaching.  I found the invites on Amazon for a deal!

Decisions, Decisions...
I'm heading out shortly to have MB's One Year Portraits taken and I'm not sure which she is wearing yet.

Have a great weekend!

Labor Day Weekend

I hope y'all had a nice long weekend!  We had many visits with family, a date night...it was a good one.

The weather broke on Saturday and it's amazing what it can do for your mindset.  We have been struggling in the late Summer heat so right now 80 degrees feels downright cool.

Today also marks two weeks until EB goes back to school.  I'm so excited to get back into the swing of things.  While I'm definitely counting down the days until I get a break, I'm still trying to savor the last bit of our endless summer.
Here's some snaps of the haps 'round here.

I took the girls to Summit Adventure Park last week.  I've never been anywhere like it and felt like it's definitely meant for older kids, but we had fun trying something new.
This little one didn't know what to think.  She hasn't been out much considering she was so young when all of this began, so she's in awe of everything.
Saturday morning I took my big girl to a special tea party to celebrate Emma's birthday. It was adorable and they all had so much fun.
Saturday night we had a night out! It was our first time on King Street since COVID started and it was...weird.  Temperature checks, lines everywhere due to limited capacities, early closing times.  But we were able to snag a spot at the bar at Macintosh before dinner at Basil, so we ate and drank very well.
Sunday we spent some time chillin' in the pool, and yesterday we spent our Labor Day lazy at home.
We've got a busy short week.  Our countertops are going in tomorrow and we've got shingles being delivered for our new roof on Friday.  Can't wait to share some before and afters!
Catch ya later.
