Life Lately

Last week we...
Hit up the 2018 Opening of the West Ashley Farmer's Market:
I watched my Choo's daughter for a day. It was a fun, exhausting experience with two toddlers running around me in circles.
We went to the beach.  Here is EB enjoying a SANDwhich:
We had Hibachi Grill take-out which is our favorite Chinese up the street.  It was a beautiful sunset Friday night:
Baby Wills came by for a visit:
And I CLEANED UP at the BiLo close-out on Savannah Highway.  Their wine section was 75% off so I went a little crazy.  I surprised Kevin with this wine rack I found at World Market.

I hope y'all had a great weekend!

Strawberry Pie

We had a great weekend!
Last night we had hotdogs on the grill followed by homemade strawberry pie.  Perfection!
--
What you need:
Two 9 inch frozen pie crusts
4 cups sliced strawberries
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp butter
--
What you do:
Combine sugar, flour, and cinnamon and toss with strawberries.
Put mixture in pie crust and dot with butter.
Top with second pie crust- cut holes (I just did a lattice top)
I also did an egg wash on top for golden color.
Bake at 425 for 30-45 minutes!
 --
We picked our strawberries at Ambrose Farms and it was such a fun morning.  They were deliciously ripe and sweet.  EB Approved:

Lots of Life Lately...

Soooo, what have we been up to lately?!
--
This little lady had her 18 month well check last week.  She is such a healthy happy girl!
--
K usually works on Saturdays, so I like to take EB out second hand shopping with me and then we get a Costco hotdog as a treat!  I try to make Saturdays feel different than M-F so that I get the sense of a "break"

This chair was only $8 at Eclectic Finds.  I thought about it for my desk but it wasn't the look I was going for.

I thought this was too funny at Once Upon A Child.  I didn't end up buying it because EB is smocked out but it still seemed rather meant to be, as we refer to her as "The Princess" quite frequently.
And this oil painting is from one of my new favorite spots, IZBY.  I just love the modern beach house as it reminds me so much of Isle of Palms.  K finds it odd to have a picture of someone else's home hanging in ours, but I love it so much!
--
Splash Pad!
We have had fun at the JICP Splash Pad this Spring.  It took her a while to warm up to it...

Look at these two best friends!

While I do agree West Ashley has one too many Mexican spots popping up, there aren't many other places where you can have a toddler double date without disturbing the peace.
--
We took this photo last weekend and then the "time-hop" popped up and...Kevin's outfit!!
--
I love it when we get our three little birds together!
 --
We had our Supper Club last weekend and the girls looked so cute sitting together at this little picnic table.
We kept saying "Cheese!!" to get them to smile.
Our girl nailed it:
Family photo before EB's outfit was soaking wet:

And finally, brunch after church this past Sunday.  Rue de Jean picked up our group's tab after an Easter snafu and we were treated like VIPs.  I think you can kind of tell that EB is used to it.

I hope y'all have a great weekend!

First Beach Trip of the Year!

Lots to catch up on around here, but for now I want to share pics from our first beach trip of the year!
Last Summer, EB was not so mobile so I was interested to see how she would do this year as an active toddler.  And she LOVED it!  This past Friday we headed down to Folly around 10:00 a.m. I wasn't expecting her to last very long, but she had so much fun that next time I will plan to pack lunch and our beach tent so she can (hopefully) nap in the shade while I work on my tan.  ;)
The weather was absolutely perfect and the crowds were light.
We ended up leaving around 12:30 because EB needed lunch but I tell you, we could have stayed all day.

In my pre-baby life, I was a washout girl. But now I find the pier to be the best decision because of the parking lot, the shade it offers, and the comfort of the First Aid available, the restrooms, etc.
