One Month Countdown

Can I just say generally uncomfortable and leave it at that??

The record breaking May temps we're having have made this last week difficult for me.  I'm feeling tired and sick and READY!  

Weight Gain  

I am 4 lbs heavier at this stage than I was with EB.  I was heavier going into this pregnancy and doing the math makes my head hurt, so that's all I can say.

Nursery:

I still need to wash clothes and get them in the closet and drawers, but otherwise we're ready to roll.  She will be sleeping in the pack n play bassinet in our bedroom to start.  

Anticipation:

 This weekend we are picking up an oversized chair with a pull-out bed for K's office.  I would like to get a carwash and install the infant carseat next week.  I need to practice with my double stroller (folding it, putting it in the trunk, etc) so I can feel confident with that.  EB will be at Summer camp the week of the 17th and I'll use that to take a little time for a mani/pedi and to try and find a few inexpensive, flowy outfits that will make me feel good postpartum.  

Other:

I did some meal prep which includes a few frozen quiches and blueberry muffins.  I was thinking more about easy breakfast and lunch ideas this go around.  I also compiled a list of easy dinner options that don't require the oven.  Oh, and EB and I made a huge batch of Chex puppy chow, but at this point I'm thinking it will be long gone before baby is here.  

That's about it for this update!

Per my appointment yesterday I am already 1 cm dilated.  My hospital bag is packed and I'm on top of the few things left to do.  I'll try to share nursery photos next week, and I've also got a post of a few #2 purchases I've made. Let's start countin' down!

Memorial Day Weekend 2019

Charleston is experiencing a MAJOR heatwave this week, so the holiday weekend was quite the scorcher.  

It began with EB's Last day of preschool!  I knew she grew a lot this year but was still shocked at the side by side comparison.  We enjoyed her End of Year program at school, she was so animated and excited to sing, and then had lunch and an ice cream treat at Ye Ole Fashioned.  

 On Saturday my mom watched EB while we went to K's college best friend's wedding downtown.  Congrats to the Cuzmars!!

 On Sunday we hit the pool...

 

And grilled out...Kabobs!

 And yesterday, Memorial Day, we went to the Aquarium in the morning...

And then more pool time and grilling out later in the day:

It was a nice, long weekend but I'll be honest, I'm starting to get uncomfortable!

I'll post a pregnancy update this week... It's the home stretch.

Friday Highfive

Happy Friday!  It's Memorial Day Weekend and it's about to be 100 degrees up in here...yikes.

 My mom got this Butterfly Garden for EB and it was so fun to watch them grow.   Look at how excited this sweet girl is to feed them some watermelon.  The whole process was about 2 weeks and it was a great activity for a toddler age child.

In an attempt to use ground beef in something different, I tried ramen noodles and frozen vegetables to make an Asian inspired dinner last week.  I seasoned with garlic, ginger, and soy sauce and then ended up adding half a packet of oriental seasoning to the dish because it was just...blah.  Anyone have any suggestions?

I made my first purchase from The Beaufort Bonnet Company last week during their Pink sale.  We are doing a family photo shoot in July so I bought the girls and I some coordinating looks.  I am way too frugal to spend full price on children's clothes (not to mention the gifts/hand me downs we receive) but it was fun to get a sweet package in the mail.  Their attention to detail certainly helps rationalize the expense.

I bought EB's two teachers beach towels with sun lotion as a little End-of-Year gift.  If I'd had more time/energy, I would have had the towels personalized and looked at TJ Maxx for some more "luxury" sun product...but I still think it's a nice summer time gift.

 It was recently Teacher Appreciation Week and I gave them eye masks and chocolate, which was an inexpensive little something.  But Serious question:  How much do you spend on teacher gifts?  I think there is a huge range here but I see some ridiculous gift suggestions in the ballpark of $50 and up.  For Christmas and End of Year I stick to a $10-$20 budget.  Next year I may volunteer to coordinate gifts for EB's classroom to be able to get something nice, but I still think a $20 max pp is about right.

Pigtails!  EB's teachers did her hair in the cutest little ponytails this week.   I just can't believe today is her last day :(
