EBN is ONE

I have been slow on this post because I have been scouring around for any of our guests that took photos at our daughter's birthday party last Sunday, October 8th.  I think my number one suggestion for a mom going into their babies' first birthday would be to designate a person (or heck, even hire someone) to be the photographer. I feel like I missed capturing some of the special guests, not to mention the effort that K and I put into the afternoon.  SO...I am going to write a lot about the party and what we did to celebrate our precious baby girl.  Close your eyes and imagine it, will ya.
*The picture below is the only photo I took on the day of her party*
The party was at 3:00 p.m.  We ordered bbq and macaroni and cheese from Hometeam. My parents made baked beans and my in laws brought a salad.  The buffet was set up using this chafing set which I purchased for the party and would 100% recommend.  Now, while I'm on the subject of recommendations, I probably would not order the pork from Hometeam again.  It was very expensive ($13/lb) and we actually prepared an additional pork butt in the crockpot (just in case) and felt like they tasted so similar.  But the mac n cheese was worth every penny.

EB's birthday outfit is from Smock Candy on Etsy.
She also had a special birthday bib made at B Picky in Mt. Pleasant.  No photo of that :(
It was a really warm afternoon.  I set up a festive harvest scene with hay and pumpkins and little scarecrows in our yard.  I also had cornhole set up, and an inflated baby pool (empty) with some toys that was meant to serve as a corralling station, but it was simply too hot out.  Oh, we also had a bubble machine going, which I thought was a whimsical touch.
For her big Happy Birthday moment, my brother and uncle played a special mandolin/guitar duet.
My mom made both her smash cake and a sheet cake for the party.
The streamer "canopy" over her highchair was a bit of a pinterest fail.
After her cake we went inside where my father-in-law, "Opa", surprised us all with video montage of some special family photos.  Video linked here.

Thank you to all of our family and friends for coming and helping us celebrate our precious baby girl.
It is our greatest gift watching  her grow and experience the world.  We are grateful to be able to share her joy with so many loved ones.
