Trick or Treat...

Except, Minus the tricks because I just want to share some treats with y'all today:
These boots are divine. I honestly can't handle the love I have.
These are by Charlotte Olympia. I am on the lookout for calf hair boots people!
---

I am running out to Hallmark this afternoon to pick up some photo frame cards.  I prefer these to the printed kinds that are most popular these days.
--

This year for our Christmas Eve Mass and Party I've opted for a black Talbots sheath dress with sheer sleeves, so I need a glam necklace to rock it out of the park.  This Anthro version is fab, huh?
--

I bought bright white nail polish from Walmart!
It reminds me of painting my nails with whiteout in middle school.
Did y'all ever do this?
--

These are Joe Fresh black twill pants with velvet polka dots. Hey now!
--

To me, this is the ultimate in pretty bedroom lamps.

Enjoy your Halloween evening :)

Humpity Hump!

As of last night, I officially feel like the holidays are upon us!
Today, I feel like Christmas...
With red lips and a bow around my waist, I'm singing fa la la...
This could be in part due to November magazine arrivals:
And thanks to Cooking Light,
I've decided that this year I will be making a latice topped pie for Thanksgiving.
Speaking of food (which I always am), here is my menu for the week:

Last, I am scouting outdoor venues for a company oyster roast.  Help!

Happy Halloweekend!

Hey there my little pretties,
This weekend was filled with Hocus Pocus!
Check it out:
Friday night my girl Chels threw a costume party where K and I debuted our beekeeping ensembles.  K is not a fan of costume parties, but he's such a good sport and he looked so cute!
Note: He wore this hat for about 5 minutes.
"She's a keeper" -K the Bee Man
Saturday was my annual Hallowine Party!  Mom and I kept it low key this year, and it was such a fun afternoon.
--
One of my favorite Halloween Party decorations: freezing gloves filled with water.
Ice hands!!
Oh, and I made puppy chow.
Which should basically be called poison, because it is lethal (to your waistline)!
My girls!
(meow)
Annnnd the afterparty.
Let's talk about the Carolina comeback?  Whaaaat!
Last night we I watched Hocus Pocus and fell asleep super early.
All these tricks and treats can really wear a girl out!
How was your weekend??

Thoughts on Thursday

Since I was little I've handled stress the same way: when I'm overwhelmed by my To-Do list I become paralyzed. It's hard for me to know where to begin and so I just don't. And that is how I have felt over the past month. I know it's ridiculously cliche to say, but time is just flying flying flying and I can't steady my grasp on it. I don't even remember September, and it feels like I'm still working on August errands.

I've got some major things to work through: Refinancing my condo for a better rate, Catching up on my Part-time Charity Work, and yet I'm struggling to take the first steps. I also have smaller goals to increase my Etsy Sales and Blog Readership, I want to renovate our Bathroom, get a new dishwasher, Master cleanse our closets...etc. I've harped on this before and so I want to stop here, but sometimes it helps just to admit I'm feeling crazy (!!!!) so I can move on.
And for the record I hope I give no impression that my busy=important.
This is NOT "a boast disguised as a complaint".
--
On an upbeat note, this Saturday is my Hallowine Party and I'm in prep mode.
So, I think there was an error on the Sale Tag for these 1.5L Barefoot Sauvignon Blanc bottles.  I got them for $5.00 each which was a savings of $10.50 per bottle!  All of the other jumbo bottles were on sale for $12.50 and I think this one was mislabeled.  I snatched all 3 remaining bottles right up!
One thing you can expect at my parties: Prizes!
I picked this up recently for my imaginary baby,
but I think it will be a perfect gift for some of my party guests who are new aunties and mommies:

And last but not least, this gorgeous photo features my epitome of comfort food:
Chicken gravy from the drippings.
I needed this last night to soothe my busy soul.

How is your week treating you?

Misc. Monday

Hey everyone, how was the weekend?
I worked Saturday so there wasn't much of it over here!
I did see Gravity in 3D and while the effects were fantastic, all I really thought leaving was "Boy Am I dizzy".
I am so relieved to have a bit of a cool spell coming through...
perfect for this Saturday's Hallowine Party!
P.S. October, won't you slow down a minute?
--
I mentioned last week that my mom and I were going to Old Towne Creek County Park on Wednesday, and it was fun!  I wasn't so impressed with the location, marketed as "A Lowcountry Event Venue",
but it was a nice spot to have a drink.

A coworker of mine inspired me with her glitter nails, and I painted my own this weekend:
I love a fresh bottle of perfume, I hate to even throw away the box!
Oh ya know, just another day on the job...
And I thought I would share this product because I bought it on sale, somewhat as a joke, but I can honestly say it's the best deodorant I've tried:

Not to mention the marketing, I mean smooches and cupid arrows?
I'm sold.

I hope your Monday is off to a good start!

Humpity Hump

I posted this on Facebook yesterday because it was (then) exactly 10 years ago to the day!!
A coworker of mine brought in his new puppy for a visit, and I've decided to steal her:
My mom and I are going to Old Towne Creek County Park tonight for "Wine Down Wednesday".  This is a future CCPRC park site and I'm excited to see it!

Our Halloween Couple Costume Idea, except for adults:

And one last thing: y'all know here in Charleston we basically live in a flood zone. So with that said, anyone in need of an elevation certificate (these are required by FEMA for insurance), I know just the guys to talk to:
So, How is your week going?

Hey Monday!

Last Thursday I finally got around to getting my hair done.
Noel put some spicy red in there and I'm loving it!
--
We got all fancy for the Childrens's Museum Gala,
And we won a package of gift certificates (to Pearlz, The Glass Onion, and Normandy Farms) for half the price of it's value!
Friday night we went out for my mom's birthday.  I ordered her a chocolate mousse cake from Saffron's and it was delicious as always.  I didn't get a photo but I found one of a carrot cake online that features the pretty pink box that the cakes come in.  I'm such a sucker for packaging, but it really does make it feel more special!

Saturday I went up to Columbia for a spur of the moment visit with my girl Abby*
We did a little shopping and I finally found a structured handbag that worked with my taste and budget. This is by London Fog:
I returned home yesterday and spent my entire afternoon in front of the tv, I was able to relax and recharge for this upcoming week.  Lazy Sundays can really help me feel like I've got a jump on things.
Case in point, potato soup is in the crockpot as we speak!
How was your weekend?

*Visits with Abby always include:

(Trader Joe's Dark Chocolate Covered Pretzels and Whispering Angel Rose)

October Happenings

Hey there!  I just wanted to pop in for a quick chat:

Is he not the cutest little franky you ever did see?
October is so fun, the calendar starts filling up with parties, and the weather...   Oh, let's just talk about how we slept with the windows open last night!
I've been enjoying each evening with a glass of Pinot Noir.
I've decorated the showroom:
(Update: I did more than just place two pumpkins on the counter, I just like this pic!
That's for you, mom)
And I've been working on some preliminary prep for the Hallowine Party!
How's your week going??

Week Recap

Here are a few pics from the past few days, we've been busy!
Last Wednesday was the Our Lady of Mercy Golf Tournament.
This annual tournament is at Briar's Creek, which is a very exclusive course on John's Island.
It's gorgeous out there:
Thursday was our Lexus event out at Westbrook Brewery.
You have got to try their Citrus Ninja!

After these two events I was completely exhausted, so I took Friday off to get caught up with household stuff, visit the Neighborhood House, and pamper myself a little.
I got my first blowout!
And later we went to the French Quarter Art Walk that evening:
I wore my Moo Roo handbag,
This was my favorite painting:
Oh, we celebrated our anniversary this weekend also :)
I'm glad that after Friday night we kept it very easy all weekend.
I needed to recharge for yet another busy week!
This week we've got the CML Gala AND
celebrating my mom's bithday, which is TODAY!!!!
Hope y'all had a nice weekend :)
