Hibernation Mode

We are peeking out of our cave, coming out of hibernation.  This year has been a doozy so far.  The holidays turned into COVID for us.  Then we lost our Alfie.  Lingering coughs, sinus infections, etc...we are so ready to see the sun!  Last week we had warm temperatures and I took the girls down to Folly...they both had so much fun.  I am so happy that Spring is right around the corner.

I'm looking forward to being healthy, having fun, and sharing it here!

See y'all in March!

Our Sweet Alfie

It's been a little over a week since we said goodbye to our sweet Alfie.  Definitely one of the hardest moments of my life, he was in my arms for his last breath and he will stay with me forever.

I began looking to adopt a dog in 2009 once I was settled on my own in my condo.  I visited the shelters monthly, and checked their websites for updates nearly every day, until one afternoon in Spring 2010.  I knew the moment we met that Alfie was meant to play a special role in my life.

I would say that adopting Alfie set off a chain reaction of love and happiness in my life.  Nearly 12 years later and I don't remember life before him.  I could never prepare for losing him, but I know he will live on in my heart.  Alfie was a gift, an angel sent to me to show me just how good life can be.

We will miss you forever and ever, Alfie
You changed my life and I'm so thankful for your love.
I'll see you at the Rainbow bridge, my sweetest boy.
