Life Lately

Happy Tuesday!
How was everyone's Memorial Day weekend?
We had a wonderful time where the days blurred together...
I swear I read 3 different books in 3 days and I started getting the characters and plots from each confused...bookworm problems.
I have a few pics from 2 weekends ago and then some snaps from this most recent 4 day break.
Enjoy!
--
Two Fridays ago we went down to Crosby's Dock for Happy Hour. They have Dock Parties every Friday night during the Spring and Summer months and they are always a lot of fun.  As is obvious, I could not get my photos from my camera to load and thus you get a pic of a pic.
The next night we had our Supper Club which was fun, as always!
--
Bringing us on up to this past weekend,
I mentioned that I took Friday off and it.was.glorious!
I went downtown for coffee and took this selfie which makes me happy because  I look relaxed and content.
Later, we had Girls Night Out at Barsa.  Love these ladies so much!!
I'm so grateful to be surrounded by intelligent, beautiful women.
On Saturday we went down and walked the MegaDock and pretended that we were zipping off in the the Caribbean to enjoy this catamaran.
--
A cookout with family on Sunday night, many hours spent at the pool, and we're up to date on the happenings around here.  What have y'all been up to?

Friday Highfive

I'm off work today for an extra long Memorial Day weekend, Here's a highfive for getting through the week!
--
This morning I went to Body Attack and then downtown for coffee and a library visit.  It was a delightful morning in Charleston!  I enjoyed the lavender latte from Black Tap.
--
I also slipped into Forever 21 and found this cutie for a casual cookout we have planned this Sunday:
--
Alfie went to work with his daddy yesterday and I received this picture around lunch.
Looks like he was loving his day at the office ;)
--
Here's a snap from last Friday's Happy hour on da creek.
We went to Crosby's Dock party and I have some great pictures to share next week.

Way Back Wednesday: Groupie Edition

This morning I was able to score tickets to the Jump Little Children Show at the Music Farm this December.
All of the Jump tour sold out in a matter of minutes, if not seconds. and I'm not sure how I was able to snag mine! But regardless, the anticipation has brought back a lot of happy memories for me.
--
My senior year of highschool I got really into local music.  I can still remember the first show my parents let me and my friends go to downtown on a school night, at the old Cumberlands.
This was the show.  I kept the flyer.  Groupie Alert!
Can we also have a moment of silence for the death of emo...
Here is another one of my favorite shows from "back then":
52.5 music!!!! Who else remembers it???
--
Anyway!  My love affair with local music continues but my groupie days are over.
And just for fun, here are some snaps from those times!
This was taken on my dorm room bed.
Another moment of silence for my nose ring...RIP.
--
Forever a favorite photo.

Fun!

Humpity Hump, hope y'all are having a good week!

Friday Highfive

Friday, what's up!
It's going to be a beautiful weekend here in Charleston!
Here's a highfive for getting through the week.
--
K sent me this photo from a jobsite on Sullivan's the other day.
Not a bad day at work, huh?
I'm hoping for a little beach time this Sunday, perhaps...
--
My boys.  Sometimes I'm like "someone pinch me" they make me so happy.
--
We are going to be taking it easy tonight because tomorrow morning I am participating in the Spin-a-thon at Gold's Gym.
This will be the 3rd year I've done it and it's always a great start to my day!

And then tomorrow night is our monthly Supper Club.
Fitness, Food, Friends.  Perfect Saturday in my book.
--
Finally, I wanted to show y'all our Thank You Cards!
We used the same font as our Save the Dates.
The photo we chose reminds us of this scene from Gone With the Wind.
We also chose to have them printed larger than typical note size, here's a shot for reference:
--
Ok, I'm out.
I hope y'all have a great weekend!

Tuesday Talk

Hello out there!
I hope everything has been going well recently.
We are zooming along over here, loving life!
We ended up having a little Fiesta for two on the porch last Tuesday for Cinco.
I was leery of the store bought queso but it was on sale and was actually pretty tasty.
--
Ok, Who remembers Wave Fest?  We saw this poster Friday night and it brought back memories.
I was a little too young for Wave Fest but K said he went a couple times.
Sidenote: Jump Little Children is playing at The Dockstreet this December and I am SO excited about it!

So how about the weather lately?  Friday was so dreary and rainy, but then it turned around and we had the most gorgeous skies for a late happy hour.  We ordered pizza from Paisano's on our way back from Gene's.

--
K and I both had to work Saturday, and Sunday was Mother's Day and no photos to show for that.
We had my family over for Brunch and it was a beautiful day!
--
I picked up this seasoning blend to try something new and it's great.  I used it in our burgers last night and they were delicious! It was the perfect way to get a little bacon flavor without, well, bacon!
:)
On that note, here is our menu for the week:

What you got cookin'?

Happy Cinco!

While we won't be partaking in any fiesta-ing today,
here's my idea of a little date night en Mexico!
I think a trip to San Miguel or Puerto Vallarta is in order...

testEspero que tengas un dia fantastico!

May 4, 2010

Five years ago today I texted my mom this photo from the holding room at Charleston Animal Society.
I had seen my baby on their website and called to make sure he was still available.
I rushed from work to go and see him and it was love at first sight.
This little dog has brought more joy into my world than you would think possible.
He is pure honey and sunshine in our lives.
And even though he's clearly a daddy's boy...
He will always be my baby.
