Our Weekend

It's going to be a quick one today...here are some snaps of the haps from our weekend.
--
This past Friday night we attended an Oyster Roast over at the Sand Dune Club on Sullivans.  It was our first (and probably last) Oyster Roast of the year so it was fun to get our fill.
On Saturday I hung out at home with my girl.
Then we grilled burgers (my fave!) for dinner.
And on Sunday we attended a wedding out at Magnolia Plantation.  It was a beautiful afternoon!
I hope y'all had a good one!

Friday Highfive

FriYAY!  Here's a highfive for getting through the week!
--
{1}
Last week I had a much needed Girls Night Out.  We tried the new Cane Rhum Bar on East Bay Street and I was pleasantly surprised.  I expect to fall into a tourist trap anytime I try somewhere new downtown but the food was delicious (I had the tipsy chicken with the coconut rice) and reasonable.  The mojito was pricey and not worth it in my opinion (so much ice!), and I will stick to my wine if we go again.

We are headed to an Oyster roast on Sullivan's tonight, and it is 80 degrees outside.
I picked up this fun jacket on the Belk Clearance rack a couple weeks ago with tonight in mind, but I suppose it will stay in the closet with the hopes that we will have at least ONE wintry day this year. Please Lord let me turn off my AC in February, I beg you!

Quick/Easy/TASTY meal alert.  I added a pound of shrimp and a couple tablespoons of our favorite teriyaki sauce and dinner was served.  I am putting this on the regular rotation going forward. These stir fry blends are frequently BOGO, we also love the pepper and onion mix, perfect with this chicken sausage.

Little lifeguard on duty!
I had to get creative on Monday when my aunt came over to help me chalk paint the dining room table.  EB did fairly well in this shady set up, but I still can't claim much painting was done on my part. Thank you Aunt Jerri for your help painting my table for me :)  I am going to try my hand at distressing and waxing it tomorrow.

In other home news, we are finally getting to work on K's office.  This was the one room left untouched before baby girl's arrival and we just got the blinds up and the art on the wall this week.  I am grateful for the layout of this house giving K his own "man space" and I think it is looking great so far!

I hope y'all have a great weekend!

Friday Highfive

Happy Friday!  I hope your week was good.
Here's a highfive for getting through...
--
{1}

Little Valentines for EB's girlfriends.  In case you were wondering, I refer to my baby by her initials on the blog so that her name will not be "google-able" now or in the future.  You just never know these days...

{2}

Oh Alfie, ya killing me!  Between how loud he snores, his stink eye when he doesn't get to walk any further... pooch needs to cut me some slack!  It really feels like I have 2 babies sometimes.

Strong baby!

Avondale strolling, love that we live so close.
Interesting community meeting coming up this week:

I want this rug SO BAD for my kitchen, but it's $400 and I can't swing that.
It's taken me so long to find anything close to my vision, so flipping over the pricetag was painful on this one!

Our Weekend

A quick recap of last weekend coming at you this Wednesday afternoon.
Hope y'all are having a great week!

On Friday we grabbed cheapo Mexican before calling it an early night.  EB was more preoccupied with batting her eyes at a group of Citadel cadets at the table across from us than taking a pic with her momma:
On Saturday morning we strolled over to a cul-de-sac yard sale in our neighborhood.
I picked up this miniature peacock chair for fifty cent...
And this cute little pillow for the glider in the nursery.  I haven't shared photos of this glider before, but it was a new purchase about a week after EB was born.  I didn't want to spend the money not knowing if I would really use it but quickly realized HECK YES.  New glider is a MUST for new moms.
We grilled out Saturday night, some steaks from the freezer that were a Christmas gift.
--
On Sunday we went to Hometeam.  My cute lunch dates:
Ended the weekend with leftover steak in the form of tacos.  YUM.
We also watched the movie Burnt which I'd highly recommend.
And that's a wrap!
:)

House Tour: Hall Bathroom

Good Monday Morning!
Today I am sharing some photos of our Hall Bathroom.
I wanted to mention that I have updated my Nursery Reveal with a "Before Photo" at the bottom.  I have also updated the link on my House Tour page.
So, away we go with the Hall Bath.  Sources listed below.  "Before Photos" at the very end.  This one has come a looooong way.
 --
Here is a view of the Hallway from the kitchen island.  At the end is our Master suite, EB's nursery is the door at the far left.
View from the door...This is where Baby Girl gets her bath every night.
I had initially planned to replace the mirror/medicine cabinet, but ended up keeping it because it looks clean and almost has a bit of a cottage vibe to it.

Ok this is just for fun, as I am nosy and thought you may be, too.
Here's a glimpse into the closet.  The linens are stored at the top, towels at the bottom.  Eventually I will be clearing a shelf for EB. :)

Every update in this room is from either Estate Sales or Marshalls/ Homegoods.  Thus, no links.

BEFORE PHOTOS
My my, it's hard for me to look at these now and see the diamond in the rough because, wow, it was rough.
Yikes:

Ok, quick summary:  First off, I owe big thanks to my dad for helping in a major way with this room!  We painted, replaced the blinds, the towel rack, and the light fixture.  We reglazed the tub, and deep cleaned.  I kept everything clean and bright when shopping for accessories.  Very happy and proud of this room.
BEFORE AND AFTER:

Next up will be our Dining Room!

Friday Highfive

TGIF, friends!
Here's a highfive for getting through the week...
--
{1&2}
We had our first class at the Little Gym this week!  We really enjoyed it, it was fun and educational.  After about 45 minutes EB was done.  The struggle is so real:
But summer is right around the corner and we need to be beach ready, right?  ;)
Y'all, I squealed while taking this photo.  BABY BIKINI

{3&4}
While I have always liked cooking, it has become a true outlet for me and I enjoy it more than ever.  A couple meals from this week:
Lemon pepper tilapia with blistered cherry tomatoes, green beans, and couscous.  This was my first time making couscous.  It was super quick and simple but I felt like it was just dry grits?  Maybe I need to work on my seasoning, but I wasn't a big fan.
And for my lunches I've gotten in the habit of making a quiche on Monday and having a slice each day.  Quiches freeze really well so I make two at a time.  This one has bacon, sharp cheddar, caramelized onion, squash, and tomato. Delicious!

Ok, this one is kind of silly, or at least that's how I felt taking a picture of our soap, BUT when you wash your hands as much as we do I figured I'd mention it.  I LOVE this.  I'm not normally passionate about things like handsoap, so I'm telling you it's really nice. Scoop some up if you see it, got mine at Target.

Have a great weekend!
We are heading to the grocery store, going to try EB sitting in front of the cart for the first time, Eeeeek!

Humpity Hump

A week already since my last post?!
And I still haven't gotten around to EB's third month update.
And, by the way, she is now FOUR MONTHS.
Omg.
So we had our 4 month appointment yesterday and baby girl got another round of vaccines.  I hate seeing bandaids on my baby's chunky thighs :(  But she really did well at her appointment and all looks great.  We were given the clear to introduce rice cereal and I will be trying that this afternoon once she's up from her nap.  I can't wait to see her reaction!
So let's see, this past weekend we had a night off, what what!  My parent's watched EB Friday night and it was the second sleepover she's had (the first was at 2 months for a family wedding).  It was SO NICE for K and I to have a night to ourselves.   I slept 8 hours straight!  But first we went out for dinner and a few drinks in Avondale.  We went back to Charles Towne Fermentory and tried a couple more of their beers, we enjoyed them all, would definitely recommend.
On Saturday I picked up my girl and we decided to hit Costco for a pizza and a bottle of wine.  I completely blanked that it was the Saturday before Superbowl and it was CRAZY in there, like the line was creeping into the store.  Miss thang was NOT AMUSED.
Honestly I was really disappointed in the Take and Bake pizza.
All they had left was Cheese and so I added tomato and basil but it was still so bland.  Whomp whomp.
We spent Sunday chillin', getting ready for Valentine's Day:

That catches us up, I think.
Kev is having guys night tonight so I am riding solo.
Annnnd I gotta run!

Humpity Hump

Hey y'all, just checking in with a lil' hump day post.
The weather here in Charleston has been fabulous lately, warm and breezy, with a few chillier days mixed in.  I am really enjoying leaving the doors to our patio open, and taking advantage of some flowers blooming in our front yard.  I was at Lowe's the other day and I started filling my buggy with plants and outdoor pillows and then realized it wasn't Spring...
Here's a recent outfit I really liked.  I realized when taking off this sweater that it had begun to unravel under my arm.  Boo!
This past Saturday night I attended Our Lady of Mercy's annual Auction.  I came away with this Jonathan Green print, the one with the boat.  I love it!
On Sunday we went downtown and strolled around the Broad St area.
We popped into Amen Street for our favorite appetizer ever.
Then went over to my parents' house for an early dinner.
Ok, Corrine might be my favorite character on the Bachelor ever. She is so ridiculous!
I'm off to unload the dishes before my sweet angel wakes up from her nap.
Hope y'all are having a good week!
