Jerk Turkey Burgers

Since we don't get out for dinner these days, we've been trying lots of new meals on the grill.  This week we did turkey burgers with plantain chips and it was fun and easy!

I combined 1 lb ground turkey with an egg white, some breadcrumbs, and 1 tbsp jerk seasoning,
We grilled them and topped with grilled pineapple and bbq sauce.
Store bought plantain chips on the side.
Dinner done.

Friday Highfive

I've got my baby on my lap trying to finish this one up...here's a highfive!

Costco: This is one shopping errand that EB doesn't mind because #snacks.
Sometimes we don't even buy anything but this week I picked up Reds Organic Chicken Cilantro and Lime burritos from the frozen section and they are SO GOOD... Perfect for EB's lunch or an after work snack for K.  Go and get some, I think they are $4 off a large box right now.

I'm a huge true crime fan and watched this last week.   Very strange case.  It's On HBO right now.

Citadel Mall is deserted these days, but EB loves watching the trains at the spot right outside of Dillard's.  It's perfect for a rainy afternoon activity:

We've been reading about and doing some "Outerspace" focused activities the last few weeks.  I found these glow in the dark stickers for EB's room and she loves them.  I found the solar system mobile at the dollar store.

Just a couple new pics of my BIG little girl.  She is already wearing 3-6 month clothes y'all!

Our Weekend

I had my 6 week postpartum appointment on Friday and I was cleared to get back in the pool!  So we filled 'er up and had lots of fun in the backyard this weekend.
We grilled out:
EB did great with potty training last week so she was rewarded with this sweet Elsa dress.  Look how proud she is!
I snapped this during a summer thunderstorm that came in quick yesterday afternoon.  They all have the exact same expression.
That's a wrap.  Hope you had a great one!

Friday Highfive: Family Photoshoot

Our first family photoshoot was draining and quite stressful, but we managed to get a few fun photos so I thought that I would share.  EB was acting incredibly silly:  pretending to baby cry, intentionally going limp when we tried to pose her, refusing to smile or keep a barrette in her hair.  Fun times!
MC is either eating or sleeping, so disturbing her nap for pictures didn't go over well.  After the experience, I truly felt we'd be lucky to get ONE decent photo, but here I'll show you five.
{1}
The money shot.  The photos we took in our backyard are my favorite from the morning.
 {2}
We are all looking at the camera and EB's hair isn't in her face.  It's a winner!

Are we having fun yet?!

Life Lately

Our weekends have been intentionally low key lately but we did manage to get out for lunch yesterday to Hometeam...  This is the look I get when I say "No walking on the bench, little lady!"
And then I made a strawberry pie for a cookout at our friends' house later:
--
The girls and I have been keeping busy during the weeks.  EB had such a fun time at her camp a while back.  It made me regret not signing her up for a program this Summer.  She really loves to be around other kids but I was nervous about adding any additional "new changes".
The mornings were very quiet at home with this precious one:
--
Last week the Children's Museum had a liquid watercolor exhibit.  I think I enjoyed it more than the kids.
--
We also hit up the Chuck E Cheese for lunch/play one day.  Anything to beat the heat!
--
I just want to quickly praise Charleston County Library's Summer Programs.  EB has cleaned up with her "prizes"  (Mellow Mushroom, mini golf, sky zone, etc.) and they have offered free hot lunches daily, which we all know is more fun than eating at home with me ;)
--
Lastly, while I'm officially ready for the weather to cool down, I feel like (cliche alert!) time is flying too quickly.  The days and nights do feel long, and yet very very short.  I'm just trying to stay present in the moments and recognize how this best is still yet to come!
