New Job

I am so happy to share the announcement of my new job here on the ole' blog!

I have taken a position at a historic church in downtown Charleston and I couldn't be feeling any more blessed.  It has been my goal to secure full time work at a Church or Nonprofit since graduating from college...These sorts of positions are harder to find than you might think!

Working in this environment is my passion, my calling, and my comfort zone. 

And it is finally a reality!

Yesterday was my last day at Lexus.  (Take a look at this post from my first day!)

I learned a lot in my time there, but I know the choice to leave is a good decision.

I know I'm exactly where I'm meant to be...

I'm calling it a match made in heaven!

Lately

Humpity Hump, It's Wednesday!

Here are some random September happenings:

This little Ekeko, a Peruvian good luck charm, has served us well these past few weeks.

For whatever reason, I decided to take pictures of our dinners last week.

So, here you go:

Monday

Rigatoni with hot turkey sausage and vodka sauce...Topped with mozz and broiled for a minute to golden perfection.  I served this with a simple salad: romaine, tomatoes, and fresh cracked pepper.

Tuesday

BLT's on onion buns.  I actually put a few slices of deli chicken on mine as well.  We used the leftover salad from Monday for the "L".  I served these with homemade sweet potato fries and a blob of sriracha (obsessed!).

Wednesday

Baked tilapia with Uncle Ben's Broccoli Rice, green beans, and wheat rolls.   

My version of a meat and three.

Thursday

Paisanos!  This is half "Flyin' Hawaian" half "Chicken Parmesan".  Paired with a cold Fat Tire, it's the perfect way to watch the USC game.

On Friday I spent a half day getting acclimated at my new job.   I'll be working downtown and I am so excited for lunch time walks in the neighborhood.

Saturday my mom and I spent allll day shopping.  By the time we got to TJMaxx I had become delirious because instead of leaving with new work clothes, I bought this, which I'll be returning.

Sunday I went down to Hilton Head for a little Girls Trip.  Unfortunately it was so dreary all day we didn't get to enjoy the pool or beach for long.  But, It cooled off perfectly for dinner on the deck at San Miguel's with my faves:

Weekend Update

September, what's up!

How was everyone's weekend?

Friday night we went over the The Americano in Mt. P for dinner with my parents.

My brother occasionally bar-tends over there, and so he spoiled us with comped plates.

We tried:

The dip trio

The beef empanadas

The picante shrimp (favorite)

before ordering our meals.

STUFFED.

Saturday I worked my LAST WEEKEND EVER (more news on that soon) and then we went to our first (and final) Riverdogs game of the season.

We won the raffle for season tickets to CofC's men's Basketball!  Or should I say K won.  After I entered him into the drawing.  This is the second time this has happened.

Sunday entertainment:

We took our chunky to Sunrise Park when there was a break in the rain Sunday and I don't think I've ever seen that dog happier.  Normally one to avoid the water, he went up to his neck barking and snapping at the waves.
Cutest thing you'll ever see, except you won't because my camera was dead by that point.
Weekend done!
