We had a nice long holiday weekend...and we are still celebrating. My favorite days of the year are the between Christmas and New Years and I am soaking it in.
Here are the girls in their Christmas Eve best. EB is wearing a dress I wore at 4, and MB is wearing what Libby wore at 1. She refused to keep the dress on though, way too formal for this wild child.
This year was the first year EB was fully aware of what was going on, so it was very special. We made cookies for Santa and left out the carrots for the reindeer. Daddy read The Night Before Christmas. We regretted buying the largest Barbie dream house ever known to exist. We slept well and surprisingly were not woken too early. Christmas morning we had our traditional breakfast with strata and cinnamon rolls (and super strong coffee for the elves).
After eating, we bundled the girls up and told them that Santa left something out in the backyard...
They were both so excited.
We feasted on a delicious meal, and are still enjoying left overs.
When the guests were gone and the kids asleep, we collapsed by the fire, looked at each other, and said...We did it! Makin' all the magic isn't easy, but getting to experience the holiday through our daughter's eyes is the greatest gift I've known.
