Drive Bys

I remember, years ago, countless drivebys of my highschool flame's house.  It's funny to think of now, but my friends and I had some of the silliest moments doing these sorts of things.Yesterday I took a drive around town, the Wagener Terrace area in particular, and found myself on St. Margaret Street (right before you hit the river) in front of my great grandparents old home. 

I loved going to visit when I was little and there are countless stories and memories within this house.  I can definitely see myself living in this neighborhood some day.

Weekend

Weekends are always wonderful, thanks to the men in my life.  I am so in love with these two:

I made another cake this weekend.  February is full of birthdays.

This beer is an instant favorite.  Bottle Tree Blonde is brewed in Greenville.

Chef

My brother is the family chef, with experience from Hall's Chophouse to Lana and more.  He never fails to deliver creative and unique cuisine, while I tend to stick to classics and comfort foods. I invited him over for dinner tonight and baked some simple (and huge!) parmesan chicken breasts.  Bill showed me how to liven up my basic parmesan risotto with spinach and almonds.  The nutty crunch was delightful and I didn't need a vegetable side!  I can't wait to see what he teaches me next week.

Weekend

I wish I could rewind back to this exact moment yesterday, enjoying a margarita and some tasty lunch on the back porch at Juanitas.  We enjoyed SEWE and were caught in an unexpected rain shower when leaving a celebration dinner at Fulton V.  It was one of those "memory making" weekends.
