'What I've Been Up To' Wednesday

Humpity Hump!
Where is the time goooooing??
Stop it right now!
Ok so,
Last Friday we went up to the Terrace Theatre to see Gone Girl.
We may be alone in our opinion, but we were not impressed.
It seemed to drag on and they could have gone really dark with some parts of it,
but they just didn't.
Whomp Whomp.
But I love the Terrace so not a total loss.
Saturday night my Choo hostessed her annual Boo Bash.  This year K and I went as Forrest Gump and Jenny.  I didn't get any pictures myself but I'm hoping someone will post one of our couple costume! <3
Sunday was full of errands.
Wedding bands, wedding shoes, bridesmaids gifts.
What else you got?
And then Monday I had my Bridal Portrait session.
I am overwhelmed by how wonderful they turned out!!!
I am bubbling over, wishing I could share them with the world,
but for now this is all:
And then finally, last night the Lexus Ladies celebrated one of our most special coworker's birthdays at Wine and Design.
Fun fun fun times!
What have you been up to?

TGIF!

Happy Friday!
I am wishing I could transport myself back to the treehouse this weekend.
I'm sure the fall foliage is in full swing!
This week was pretty hectic.  I am beginning to have what I've dubbed "Bride Brain".  I'm in a perpetual state of feeling like I'm forgetting something.  But I'm still enjoying pulling everything together.
We are now less than a month from walking down the aisle!
--
In other news, My coworker brought his new pup, Frankie, to the office last week.
He is precious and I want him as a wedding gift.
--
As the end of the year approaches, more and more salespeople are calling and stopping by my office trying to schmooze their way into a little year end quota.
Just this week we had donuts dropped off twice by two different reps.
I don't really like donuts but think they are super cute!
 --
I don't think I mentioned it on the blog, but we had a fantastic night on Folly celebrating my mom's birthday earlier this month.
--
We ran into Costco, aka "Where did my money go Depot", to get some K cups and came out with these two tasty treats.  It was the perfect Sunday night dinner combo...
--
And last, I am currently trying to figure out what spa treatment to book for the day before the wedding.  Just fyi, I was trying to get my face out of the shadow in this pic, hence my cockeyed look.
It kind of reminds me when I say "Wanna treat?" to Alfie.
That's all for today.
We are possibly seeing Gone Girl tonight and have a Halloween Party to attend tomorrow.
Have a fab weekend!

Our Couples Shower

Hey hey Tuesday!   I'm popping in to share some snaps from our Couples Shower this past Saturday.
It was a gorgeous night and we were so happy to share it with family and friends!

I am using a new camera and I'm still getting the hang of it.  A lot of the pictures ended up blurry or way too bright....
My dress is from Tres Carmen on James Island.  This was my first time shopping there and it is such a cute shop!
A blur (literally) of family and friends...
<3
My brother gave the most touching toast!
K's Dad and Uncle cooked up the most delicious Beaufort Stew and grilled Oysters Rockefeller.
Cheers to our host and hostess.  Y'all outdid yourselves!

Wedding Details: Our Invitations

Today I want to share our invitation ensemble!
I mentioned before that we are using PostNet for all of our wedding paper needs.
I have been extremely happy with the service and the value they have provided!
I have been able to be hands-on with the design process.  Their store is near my work and I have loved being able to actually see paper samples and font colors in person, versus online.
I was 100% set on going extremely traditional with my invitations, I am so very happy with that choice.  The end result is elegant and classic, exactly my vision.
Without further ado...
The paper I chose is from Birchcraft Studios, stock #T9530SL, color Ivory.
We did not include a Reception card, we included the information on the invite.
--
The magnolia and the font were inspired by a couple of images I found on Pinterest.
Rachel, our graphic designer, was able to replicate them perfectly.
I chose Brilliant Gold for the font color and I think it has an embossed look to it.
The inner envelopes were gold-lined, so lovely.
A huge Thank You goes out to Jakki, our dear family friend, for her beautiful cursive skills.
She addressed all of the envelopes for me and it was the most wonderful gift!
For the outer envelopes I chose American Treasure stamps.
And for the inner envelopes we used the Ivory Rose Wedding stamps.
There you have it!
If anyone has any questions please let me know.
:)
Happy Hump Day!

TGIF!

Hallelujah!
As of this morning, the invitations have gone out!
We were cutting it close to the 6-8 week suggested timeline, our wedding is exactly 6 weeks from tomorrow. Eeeek!  Thanks to my mom and K for their sealing and stuffing expertise, I'm so relieved to check that off my list.  I will share our design next week.
Last night I had two wedding nightmares.
The first of which was that we sent the invitations out the night before the wedding and then we had to call everyone and tell them "The wedding is tomorrow!"
And then the second was that we had booked the Ballroom at the Francis Marion but at the last minute they switched our reception to a classroom.
I mentioned years ago how I hate stress dreams!!

Anyway, just a quick TGIF for ya!
Have a great weekend!

Weekend Happenings

Hey Hey!  What have you been up to?
Friday night we went to Zia to grab dinner.  Afterwards we stopped into How Art Thou for a glass of wine and some live jazz.  We've seen Oscar Rivers several times now and it's always a treat.
Saturday I worked a half day, had a dress fitting, and then went to a family cookout.
I snapped this photo in the restroom (obviously) because I realize I am literally wearing leopard head to toe, and I love it.
Sunday was GORGEOUS!
We went down to St. Stephens, where we are getting married, for The Blessing of the Animals.
It was so cool.  They gave all the animals St. Francis medals for their collars.
Alfie met a horse...
was blessed by Father Williams...
and had so much fun meeting new friends.
Next we walked down to Jos. A. Bank so Daddy could get fitted for a suit.
Did you know they are dog friendly?
We popped into Saffron's for a cold beverage and hummus plate before heading home.
For dinner we used Saturday's cookout leftovers (beef tenderloin) and made tacos.
They were awesome with gouda cheese and gourmet salsa.
(I am firm believer that any leftover meat can be reinvented in a taco.)
It was a beautiful weekend and I'm gearing up for a busy week!
How was yours?

4 years

K,
As our wedding approaches, so does a new anniversary which will become the date by which we measure our years.
I wanted to take a moment and reflect on this day, our "first anniversary", because it was exactly four years ago today that we met.
I don't think it's common nowadays for 2 people to meet without any planning, without mutual friends or matchmakers.  I often think of how lucky we are to have had the experience of a random encounter that changed the course of our lives!
I know now that I was subconsciously drawn to your kindness.
Your voice is pure warmth, like a towel straight from the dryer.
And I'm so thankful to be wrapped up in you, babe.
